The Boston Amateur Radio Club held it annual Summer field day at the Westwood, Ma. Hale Education, Inc. is a private nonprofit widely recognized for our flagship camps, youth programs, family and community activities, school partnerships, and professional development opportunities. We serve several thousand children and families from 70 Greater Boston communities annually, and invite visitors to enjoy our 1,100+ acres of forests, ponds, and meadows in Westwood and Dover, Massachusetts. Our programs and land management practices are the legacy of our founder, Robert Sever Hale, who encouraged people to patronize the property in ways that are “charitable and benevolent in nature…to provide education which will develop intelligent, capable, and responsible citizens.”

Many of the Boston Amateur Radio Club Officers are saying that the club had a record Field Day weekend with more contacts then in the past years, with many members working So hard to make contacts throughout the Saturday and Sunday hours.

Very Important People (VIP’s) came to visit our Field day site from the ARRL

I myself am very proud of my 12 contacts that I made during this time, including one with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas 77058. My Elmer (Teacher for ham radio) came to the site on Saturday and at some point gave me a 2023 Field day Pin for me to wear. (Thank you Joe C.)

The second contact i made was in Colorado. which brings back old family connections for me when I was younger of visiting Loveland, Co (For more information visit:  www.visitlovelandco.com)

During the Friday- Sunday my roommate and I had a few encounters with local Wildlife (So Cool). We saw Two Deer, White Tail Rabbits, many Garter Snakes, and some turtles (think they are painted turtles, But not sure) Overall, its a very nice weekend, and I had a lot of fun!

The Level 2 General License Course Questions are now UPDATED starting July 1st, 2023

If you are planning on upgrading to your Level 2 General License course, you must study the new question pool for July 1st, 2023.

Do not study the old question pool or you risk failing your exam!

Why is this update happening?

Every 4 years, the question pool for each ham radio license gets a refresh to reflect updates in amateur radio. The old question pool has now expired and the new questions are available.

How do I study the new Question Pool for 2023 – 2027?

Ham Radio Prep, the nation’s leader in ham radio education, has had the new updates available in all of our materials for over two months. You have three ways to study:

1. Ham Radio Prep Online Class – Study the new General License course with professional-grade videos taught by ham radio experts, quizzes, lessons, and interactive games. It’s a full multimedia experience and is the only full video course available for the new question pool!

It’s extremely affordable and great if you prefer a book.

If you already purchased the Ham Radio Prep General Class, you have automatically been given access to the new question pool for 2023 – 2027 and you don’t need to purchase again!

Why should I upgrade to General?
